Now Playing: Eugen Enin - [E.3]
Sometimes, it's about time rollerblading rewards its hardest workers.
Eugen Enin's skating needs no introduction. Hyper-technical, highly focused on weird moves and quick feet variations, borderline OCD (Eugen's own words), it may or may not be your thing but you would have a hard time denying the man's incredible skills. You would also have a hard time ignoring the amount of quality work he puts out. Now available on VOD, his newest [E.3] section is yet another proof, as Eugen laces one incredible move after the other in here too.
With this release, he is once again teaming up with brother and longtime collaborator Daniel, who has proved his worth many times over. More interestingly even, this time the visual mastermind behind the project is none other than Vincent Lindgren, the discrete yet nonetheless talented videographer responsible for the Broke VOD and pretty much everything the Losers have put out. Together, these gentlemen beautifully capture the eerie scenery of Neo Tokyo at the present time.
The fourth of these three musketeers is another invisible yet highly qualified visual artist whose work already appeared in some of Eugen's previous pieces or Mr. Hansson's SOTA masterpiece for instance: Claudio Antonelli handled the motion graphics and I can't imagine how much one would charge for that type of work in the 'real world'. Which brings me to my last point:
The fast turnover of talent in blading is an obvious sign of the unfortunate financial state we are in, and our inability to reward the guys putting in the hours to create quality content. On the blades, behind the camera, or in front of the computer screen, these people sure are busting their asses. So if you're tired of seeing the good guys leave the sport, all it takes is one small step at a time. You could start with watching [E.3] right here, for instance!
