With a crew whose mission statement is to cruise “the most obscure areas in search of the crustiest spots the 7 seas have to offer”, it only made sense to celebrate the relaunch of our Tour Life feature with an article dedicated to Ian Walker’s Boat Mag video series. Hitting various underground locations around the country and making sure not to leave any broken or capped rail unskated, Ian and his boys truly embrace the ideal of a life spent on the road.
After a first episode that saw the likes of Danny Malm, Carter LeBlanc, Sam Asken & Josiah Blee destroy spots in Albuquerque and Pittsburgh, the crew just released their second video on Monday, and it sure delivers on its promise once again! In Pleasure Cruise, they momentarily split into two groups, and while Danny is joined in Las Vegas by Joey Lunger and James Kobryn, 2000 miles eastward, Sam, James & Josiah return to the Burgh to handle some previously unfinished business.
All reunited in Denver, along with Jordan Smith, Mick Casals & Jeremy Spira for some joint action on their home turf, Pleasure Cruise also features a main profile on Tom Leong, with guest appearances by Chris Burlingame and Eric Woods. Fresh off his strong performance in Eric’s full-length Honestly, Tom delivers yet another impressive section, where his great flow and solid technique allow him to take full advantage of the spots Renfer has to offer.
Truly embracing the DIY ethos he’s developed since the Scumpire & Chvpo days, on top of filming and editing this whole piece, Ian also captured the scenes on some Illford 35 disposable cameras, which he then processed and scanned himself. Dan managed to break his hand mid-trip. It was swollen; it looked fake, sorta like that hand David Grohl grew in that trippy Foo Fighters music video. Just like his skating, his icing tactics are very innovative.

Sam is the illest homie you could ask for. After this was taken, an extremely creepy voice started screaming at us from this pitch black building. We couldn’t figure out which window it was coming from, which made it that much more unsettling. Regardless, Sam managed to true porn out porn that corner ledge without much frustration. Shortly after this, we got caught up in a gunfight, but that's a completely different tale.
This was also taken right before the voice and the gunfight. Fun fact: Josiah is the strongest member of the crew, known for yanking pole jams over and lifting unsettling amounts of pure steel for his crew members.

This rail is horrible, but the DIMS served Josiah well. He laced these three tricks in about 10 minutes. I asked him when was the last time he did any of those tricks. He responded, “A longtime, a very long time.” He then continued to thank me for taking him to such a shitty spot. It's the small things, right?

Josiah's commitment to the cruise can be seen in his dedication to rocking these party shades at all times. With such a powerful look, it's easy to see why he is the strongest member of the crew.
Right before this was taken, a balloon popped in a rather echoey gazebo, and we all freaked out due to our PTSD from the gun fight earlier in the trip. God damn kids and their birthday parties.
Fun fact, both Jim and Jt are named James, they have brains like scientists, arms like fucking canons, and hips that don’t lie.
