In just the last 12 months, Shima Skate Manufacturing team rider Brian Weis managed to put out a Watchlist 13 section for Ground Control, a full profile for The Haunted’s first team video Die High, and released the third opus of the now-famous Not Cereal series with partner in crime Don Bambrick. In addition to all his video appearances, he also received his first signature wheel, and gave in-depth interviews to both Be-Mag and Wheelscene (we were first, of course)!
If that wasn’t enough already, Brian’s photography made it to this very website, and illustrated Ground Control’s Road to Pow-wow and Don Bambrick’s interview, two great features of which we are genuinely proud! One of the hardest working men in blading, Brian sure is Detroit‘s most promising up-and-comer at the moment. In order to understand what keeps him going so strong and blading so hard, we decided to take a look at his ride: enjoy!

Describe your personal blade setup:
I’m skating the SSM Bloodline III‘s, pretty much ride them straight out of the box minus changing liners if need be, or switching the wheels and bearings. Other than that I ride them pretty stock.
What parts do you wear through the quickest:
I go through the typical souls, wheels, and bearings most often.
What part do you break most often:
Don’t really break too many things.
Which parts are you paranoid about breaking:
Any part of my actual body.
What spares/tools do you keep in your backpack:
Wax, lighter, Allen key, wheels, bearings.
Where do your parts go once you are done with them?
Either they’re too shot to use or a homie hand me down.
Flat or Freestyle:
Anti-rocker.
Anything you plan to change on your current setup?
Nothing in particular, maybe some new insoles soon or switch up the color scheme.
Do you skate different setups for different terrain?
Sometimes switch back and forth between the BIG‘s and flt III’s.
What was your very first skate setup?
Some Kmart recreational blades to cruise the neighborhood and play hockey, then RB Swindlers.
What was the best setup you’ve had to date?
Razors Creams.
Could you describe your dream setup?
Tough one, I’d need some time for that. Let’s say I’m skating what I like right now!
